"I was in Primary Five when I got my first period. It happened at school, and I didn’t even know what was going on. There were blood spots on my uniform, and the boys started laughing at me. I felt so embarrassed. I ran straight home."

"At home, we didn’t have any pads. A neighbor saw me crying and told me to use an old T-shirt. That was all we could afford. I was scared and confused, and I just wanted to hide."
"But then, RSI came to our school and taught us about menstrual hygiene. I learned how to make reusable pads, how to stay clean, and most importantly, that I don’t have to be ashamed. Now, I feel confident. I know what to do, and I even help other girls who might not know how to handle their periods yet."
"Thanks to the training, I am no longer afraid. I’m proud to be a girl. Awayo Elizabeth.
Elizabeth received this training alongside 89 other pupils(72 girls and 17 boys) helping to break stigma and build understanding among all students.
